The thought of becoming a parent is a distant dream for several couples struggling from low fertility. To increase the chances of pregnancy, looking at specific nutritional and lifestyle changes are a great way to improve fertility. So is the addition of a regular Yoga regimen. There are certain yoga poses dedicated to enhancing the reproductive system and help accelerate the chances of fertility by a massive degree. Follow these five yoga poses for fertility on a regular basis to aid the reproductive cycle of your body:

Paschimottanasana

This is a forward bend pose and requires a reasonable amount of flexibility in your back, abdomen, and legs to perform it without pain. Paschimottanasana is found to stimulate the ovaries and uterus and also improves the chances of fertility. But, practice this yoga only after a break of 5 hours after the meal, on an empty stomach. Besides, you must perform a few easier asana like Uttanasana and Balasana before trying this asana.

To perform:

Sit comfortably on a flat surface, then bend forward while exhaling to hold the toes. Now inhale and look upwards. Further, you can exhale and bend forward by touching the knee joints with your forehead. Now rest the elbows on the surface, close your eyes and take deep breaths six times. Finally, you can raise your head to feel relaxed. Do it once per day to bring stamina in your back.

Sarvangasana

This asana helps in stimulating the thyroid gland, the dysfunction of which can become a major cause of infertility. Apart from this, Sarvangasana also keeps your mind relaxed during the entire phase of pregnancy.

To Perform:

For properly doing this asana, first of all, you must lie down comfortably on your back. Now, exhale completely and try to raise your legs upward at the same time lifting your waist. Make sure to instantly place your hands under the back to provide support. Then try to keep your legs, waist, and back in a straight line by stretching the torso. Stay in this position for around 10 seconds and then slowly fold the legs from the knees and get back into the normal position. You can practice Sarvangasana five times a day to see great results.

Bhujangasana

In order to improve fertility, Bhujangasana is another perfect asana. Also called the Cobra Pose, it helps in increasing the blood flow to your ovaries and uterus. This results in a balanced state of hormones in the body. Besides, this pose also increases the production of cervical mucus, which makes the attachment of the sperm to egg convenient.

To Perform:

To practice this asana, you must first lie on your stomach, ensuring that the palms face the floor. Now, take breath slowly and try to lift the upper half part of your body. Remain in this position for fifteen seconds and then come back to the original position. Repeat this exercise for five times.

Viparita Karani

The Viparita Karani is recommended by many due to its vital role in increasing your chances of conception. While doing this asana, you are required to stretch the legs upward. This increases the amount of blood flow in the pelvic region which further stimulates the hormones needed for foetus formation. If you practice this asana right after the intercourse, your chances of getting pregnant will definitely increase manifold.

To Perform:

Before doing this pose, you must place the yoga mat against the wall. Come closer and sit before the wall. Now lie down facing the wall and slowly let your legs float upward with the support of this wall. After that, try to spread your legs comfortably and stay in this position for five minutes. For feeling comfortable, you can also use a pillow while doing this asana.

Baddha Konasana

Also known as the Butterfly Pose, this asana can improve the overall flexibility of your genitals and the hip region. The flapping of thighs releases the negative energy from the private region and makes the ovaries function smoother even after pregnancy.

To Perform:

To come into Baddha Konasana, you can sit on your mat and put the palms of your feet together. Now cover your feet with both the hands. Start pressing your knees with the elbows till you feel the stretch in the hips and the inner thigh area.

One of the high points about all these five asanas is that it directly improves the flow of blood in the reproductive organs. This ensures a minimum level of physical and emotional stress during the entire phase of pregnancy and a safer childbirth as well.
