Example of dialogue for stress reduction

First, focus on the thing that is stressing you out. Then, feel that stress about that specific thing and give it a number on a scale from 0 to 10. 10 being the highest intensity, 0 being non existent. Then start tapping.

Karate chop point:

(1) Even though I have all this stress in my body, I deeply and completely accept myself.

(2) Even though I have so much stress in my body, about this one thing, I choose to relax now.

(3) Even though I’m so stressed about this thing, I choose to relax now.

EP: This stress

SE: This stress

UE: This stress in my body

UN: All the stress in my body

CP: All the stress in my body

CB: All the stress in my body

UA: All the stress in my body

TH: This stress in my body

EP: This stress about this thing

SE: I’m so stressed out

UE: And I’m carrying it in my body

UN: All the stress in my body

CP: All the stress and anxiety

CB: I wonder what it’s all about

UA: I wonder if I can let it go

Then take a deep breath and let it out.

 

If, like me, you want to use tapping in a public place, there is a way for you to do it in a more discreet manner. One of the interviewees of the Tapping World Summit 2013 offered a suggestion based on his experience, which I tried for myself and loved, so I am sharing it with you.

Instead of using all the usual tapping point, you can use the karate chop point as a starting point, with both hands, and then tap using just one hand:

  • thumb tapping on the side of the grooming finger
  • thumb tapping on the side of the middle finger
  • thumb tapping on the side of the ring finger
  • thumb tapping on the side of the little finger

This is a method you can really use everywhere you go, and it works nearly as well as the original method. I know I use it when I go out and feel the need, and it works really great.
